Why am I disconnected from Amazon?
A connection that was working and has stopped is almost always one of a few things. Work down the list — the seller card on the Connections tab tells you most of what you need.
First: which connection dropped?
Section titled “First: which connection dropped?”The two connections are independent and fail separately.
- Amazon Ads gone means no advertising data. Rules stop finding anything to evaluate.
- SP-API gone means no product or sales data. Advertising data keeps arriving, but the economics behind it go stale.
The card reports each one, so check which is actually down before diagnosing.
Is it disconnected, or just stale?
Section titled “Is it disconnected, or just stale?”A connection can say connected while nothing new is arriving. Read the latest-data date. If it has stopped moving, the connection is failing quietly rather than cleanly, which looks different and needs the same fix.
For SP-API, a non-zero error count on the last sync means part of the catalog did not come through.
The usual causes
Section titled “The usual causes”The authorization expired. Amazon’s authorizations do not last forever. Reconnecting starts a new authorization flow.
Access was revoked in Seller Central. Someone removed the authorization on Amazon’s side — often without realising it affected Vendlen. It has to be re-granted there before reconnecting here.
The Seller Central user lost permissions. The person whose authorization Vendlen holds may have had their own access changed, so the connection can no longer sync.
The authorization changed in Seller Central. Changes to an Amazon authorization can invalidate the connection. Reconnect to authorize access again.
Something changed on the Amazon account. Account-level changes can invalidate existing authorizations.
Reconnecting
Section titled “Reconnecting”Follow the same order as the first time: Amazon Ads, then SP-API. See Connect your Amazon account.
Two things to be careful about:
- When Amazon Ads asks you to select the seller again, select the same one. A different selection attaches this profile to a different Amazon account.
- Select the intended seller profile before choosing Connect SP-API, so the authorization is attached to the right Amazon account.
What happens while you are disconnected
Section titled “What happens while you are disconnected”Automation cannot evaluate what it cannot read, and the AI Analyst has nothing new to look at. Nothing is lost — the history you already have stays — but nothing advances either.
There is a clock. Amazon-derived data is permanently deleted within 25 days after the Amazon connection is disconnected or authorization is revoked. Reconnecting inside that window keeps your history; after it, the account starts over.
Considerations
Section titled “Considerations”- Reconnecting does not backfill instantly. Data returns on the next sync, and history takes longer.
- If a connection drops repeatedly, the cause is usually on the Seller Central side rather than in Vendlen — check whose authorization it is and whether that person’s access is stable.
