Product Line

A Product Line is the category-level working context the AI Analyst reasons inside. It is how Vendlen knows that a set of products belong to the same commercial problem, so evidence from one of them can inform a decision about another.

You create it, but you do not have to restructure anything

Section titled “You create it, but you do not have to restructure anything”

A Product Line is something you create — the App does not invent one for you. What it does not require is any change to your Amazon account: nothing has to be re-tagged, renamed, or reorganised first, and the line is a Vendlen-side grouping that Amazon never sees.

The Agent can do most of the work. It interviews you about the products, fills the form, and stops there; you review what it wrote and press Create. See Product Lines.

You can add business context later when it helps, but that is an improvement, not a prerequisite.

Input What it contributes
Product Listings What the product actually is, and how it is described
Advertising keywords What you have decided the product should be found for
Search terms What shoppers actually searched before they saw it
Performance history How targets behaved over time, not just this week
Observed seasonality Patterns Vendlen has seen repeat in your own account

These accumulate. A Product Line gets more useful the longer an account is connected, because the observations attached to it keep growing.

Two shapes, and the difference matters:

  • An Individual ASIN carries its own keyword set, so it is judged on its own evidence.
  • A Product Group is a set of ASINs that share one meaningful keyword set. They are read as one aggregated context.

Which one a decision uses is its decision scope.

What sits inside a Product Line A Product Line at the top branches into two shapes. On the left, an individual ASIN judged on its own evidence. On the right, a Product Group of three ASINs that share a keyword set and are read as one aggregated context. Product Line Shared context · default economics Individual ASIN Its own keyword set Judged on its own evidence Product Group One shared keyword set Read as one aggregated context Variants, never compared one against another Decision scope: this ASIN

The two shapes an ASIN can take inside a Line. Which one a decision uses is its decision scope.

Without a working model of which products share a keyword set, every target has to be judged on the row in front of you. That is where thin evidence comes from: one ASIN often does not run a query enough times to settle whether the query is worth keeping. The Product Line is what lets Vendlen widen the evidence without widening the change.

See Creating a Product Line for every field on the form and what each one changes.
