Known limitations

Everything here is a deliberate boundary or a feature that is not finished. None of it is a fault to report — but knowing about it saves you looking for something that is not there.

Vendlen reads the United States marketplace. Other marketplaces on the same Amazon account are not analysed and not changed. See Marketplace scope.

Three rule types are described in the documentation but are not usable, and all three are labelled Beta:

  • Status rule — enabling and pausing targets by criteria. It appears in the interface, but cannot be configured end to end.
  • Placement and budget rule — placement adjustments and daily budget. These are not offered as rule types at all.

Placement and budget remain manual decisions in the Performance workspace for now, and Dayparting is the closest available substitute for hourly ad group state.

Sponsored Brands is allocated, not measured. Amazon does not report Brands spend per ASIN, so per-ASIN figures allocate it by daily product sales. That is an estimate, and it is why a per-ASIN ACOS will not match a per-campaign one.

Some metrics are SP/SD only. Impressions, clicks, orders, CPC, CTR and conversion cover Sponsored Products and Display. Ad sales, spend, ACOS and TACOS cover Brands and Brands Video as well.

Effectiveness analysis does not prove causation. It compares before and after with nothing controlled — price, promotions, inventory, seasonality and competitor moves are not in it. See ASIN Automation Review.

Nothing is real-time. Data arrives on a schedule, and Amazon’s attribution keeps arriving for days after a click. The most recent days always understate results.

Change History records what Vendlen changed. Edits made directly in Amazon’s own console are not Vendlen’s to log.

Dayparting writes no Change History entry. Its hourly changes are a transient overlay by design.

Rules do not stack. When two rules want the same entity, priority decides and the others are skipped for that target in that run.

A negative is created only where the rule is assigned, however wide the evidence it read.

Sponsored Brands ad groups fix their targeting kind at creation. A negative of the wrong kind cannot be added afterwards.

The Data Window maximum is 180 days, whatever your plan allows beyond that.

Campaign Builder creates structure; it does not maintain it. Editing a template later does not reach back into campaigns it already wrote.

Inventory and Supply is in beta, and being tested with real catalogs while the chain is completed. See Inventory and Supply.

If you are looking for something that is not on this page and not in the documentation, it may simply be undocumented rather than absent. Ask.
