Glossary
Terms are listed alphabetically. Where a term has its own page, follow the link.
AI Analyst The analysis surface. It reads your account and writes Decision Briefs.
Assignment Which ad groups a rule or objective is attached to. A rule with no assignment evaluates nothing.
Automated ASIN An ASIN enabled for Automation.
Automation Window The furthest back an Automation rule on your account may read. It is the ceiling every Data Window has to fit inside, and it governs rules only — it does not limit what reports or a Decision Brief show you. Called Analysis History until 2026-09-18. Your ceiling is shown in the App.
Blacklist / Whitelist Per-product memory that blocks or protects exact and phrase terms, independently of any rule’s evaluation.
Break-even ACOS The ACOS at which a product stops making money. Set on a Product Line and overridable per Group or ASIN.
Campaign Set A reusable Campaign Builder template that writes a coordinated set of campaigns across Sponsored Products, Brands, and Display.
Change History The record of every change Vendlen made to the account, with its type and its source.
Cooldown The period a target changed by a Bidding rule is left alone before it may be changed again. Default five marketplace days; clicks or spend can release it early. See Anatomy of a rule.
Criteria A reusable set of thresholds a rule evaluates. Criteria live in a library and can be shared between rules.
Data Window The number of days of history a rule analyses. Default 90, hard maximum 180. See Data Window.
Dayparting Changing bids or target state by hour of the day.
Decision Brief The AI Analyst’s output: an action, a reason, the evidence behind it, and the window and scope it applies to. See Decision Brief.
Decision scope Whose evidence a decision was allowed to read: Individual ASIN or Product Group. See Decision scope.
Glide An optional Bidding-rule setting that closes part of the distance between a target’s current ACOS and its Target ACOS on each calculation rather than jumping straight there. Automation closes 20% of the gap; the AI Analyst approaches in 10% steps. Off by default.
Harvest Promoting a converting search term into keyword targeting. Handled by the Import rule in Automation.
Individual ASIN A decision scope in which only the selected ASIN’s evidence is read. The default.
Loss Budget Guard The Bidding-rule trigger mode that measures spend above the economic threshold you allow, rather than a ratio.
Momentum Guard The Bidding-rule trigger mode that holds a baseline and checks shorter order-pace checkpoints against it.
Naming pattern An optional regular expression on a Product Line that assigns new products to it automatically by SKU or product name.
Negative Exact / Negative Phrase The two negative match types Vendlen creates and removes. A negative is created only in the ad group the rule is assigned to.
Objective One set of rules working toward the same end, attached to the ad groups it should run on. Not a named strategy chosen from a menu.
Orders safeguard See Negation and unnegate rule.
Performance Deterioration The Negation-rule trigger mode that requires a term to have performed well over a Historical Window and to have stopped performing at both a 60-day and a 30-day checkpoint.
Preview Changes The surface listing every target a rule would affect, with current and proposed values, before it is applied.
Product Group ASINs that share one meaningful keyword set, read as one aggregated context. See Product Group.
Product Line The category-level working context Vendlen builds from your account. See Product Line.
Run One execution of a rule. The run keeps what it decided and why.
Seller description budget The 10,000 characters of description text a seller profile has, shared across every Product Line and Product Group on it. See Creating a Product Line.
Search term The query a shopper actually typed, as opposed to the keyword you targeted.
Seller profile The scope that owns an Amazon connection, its members, and its permissions.
Standard Criteria The default trigger mode on both Bidding and Negation rules, in which every threshold in a Criteria must pass inside the Data Window.
Target ACOS The ACOS a Bidding rule aims at. Reached directly, or gradually if Glide is switched on.
Target Any entity a bid can be set on: a keyword, a product target, or a category target.
Trigger mode How a rule decides that its action is warranted. Bidding rules offer Standard Criteria, Loss Budget Guard and Momentum Guard; Negation rules offer Standard Criteria and Performance Deterioration. See Anatomy of a rule.
Unnegate Removing an existing negative so a term can run again. Available as a rule action.
