Inventory and Supply
Inventory and Supply connects the data you maintain with the stock Amazon and your other sales channels report. It helps you decide what to make or buy, then follow the stock until it arrives.
The feature is organised into three top-level areas in the App:
| Area | Route | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Order Planning | /inventory |
Read the projection, review proposals, and build shipment plans. |
| Shipments | /inventory/shipments |
Reconcile inbound, AWD-to-FBA transfers, and AWD orders to external warehouses. |
| Product Catalog | /inventory/master-data |
Maintain SKUs, channel mappings, recipes, materials, buffers, and imported data. |
Open these routes from the Inventory & Supply section of the App sidebar. Inventory is a desktop workspace; mobile shows a read-only hint for screens that require a table or editor.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Select the correct seller profile in the top bar.
- Connect Amazon SP-API for that seller. Inventory cannot load its Amazon stock and shipment data without it. Walmart and TikTok are optional planning channels and are currently Beta.
- Open Product Catalog and check the App SKUs, selling status, channel mappings, carton size, and minimum order quantities.
- If you manufacture from components, turn on Manufacturing & production orders in Product Catalog → Supply setup, then add materials and recipes. If you buy finished goods, leave it off; the material and recipe surfaces are hidden.
The App may open Inventory in preview mode when the seller’s plan does not include it. You can read the real data, but saving and importing are disabled; exports may still be available. Your permission also controls which editors are available.
That is a chain of decisions, and normally every link of it lives somewhere else: a spreadsheet, an email to the factory, a shipment ID pasted into Seller Central. Inventory and Supply holds the whole chain in one place.
The chain
Section titled “The chain”| Step | What it is |
|---|---|
| Real demand | Selling rate per week, read across several windows |
| Projection | Stock on hand, inbound, FBA and AWD, week by week |
| Shipment plan | What you are short of, after the planning inputs are checked |
| Purchase order | The approved plan, sent to the manufacturer |
| Allocation | The received lot, split into FBA and AWD shipments |
| Tracked lot | Mapped to the real shipment, with an arrival date |
A branch runs off the purchase order for sellers who buy components rather than finished boxes: see Material planning.
The unit of planning is the Sales SKU
Section titled “The unit of planning is the Sales SKU”The App calls the sellable variation a Sales SKU. Older screens and data contracts may call the same thing a pack SKU. It is not the parent product and it is not the production run.
Make 1,000 production units and assign 400 to a single-pack Sales SKU and 300 to a twin-pack Sales SKU. Each Sales SKU carries its own stock, selling rate, buffer, channel and projection, while the production requirement behind them is calculated in production units.
This matters because sellable variations move at different rates. Planning only at parent-product level can leave the single pack short while the three-pack is overstocked.
Inventory workflow tabs
Section titled “Inventory workflow tabs”The /inventory workspace has its own workflow tabs. They depend on whether manufacturing is enabled:
- Order Planning — the finished-goods projection and proposals.
- Material Planning — component demand and material purchase drafts (manufacturing mode only).
- Orders — production orders and material purchase orders. When manufacturing is off, the production sub-tab is labelled Purchase Orders and the material sub-tab is hidden.
- Inbound Pipeline (
/inventory/pipeline) — planned and tracked lots, with one column per lot.
The main sidebar’s separate Shipments and Product Catalog areas are documented next. Use the links below when you need the detailed procedure for one part of the chain.
In this section
Section titled “In this section”- Selling rate and buffer weeks — the inputs everything else is derived from, per SKU and channel.
- The weekly stock projection — how to read the grid and its cover colours.
- Order Planning — review proposals and add quantities to a plan.
- Purchasing and Production — turn a plan into a PO and allocate the finished run.
- Inbound Pipeline — follow tracked lots and their arrival dates.
- Material planning — components projected from production demand.
- Shipments — reconcile Amazon, Walmart, TikTok, and external movements.
- Product Catalog — maintain the reference data that planning needs.
